The Aghanashini estuary

The Aghanashini is one of the few rivers on this coast that reaches the sea without a dam along its main course. Its estuary at Tadadi is lined with mangroves, fishing boats and small jetties — a quieter, greener side of Gokarna that most visitors never see.

What the tour includes

The backwater stretch is gentle and good for photographs. Watch for birds along the mangrove edges and fishermen working the estuary. The route then continues toward the Gokarna lighthouse.
